Drowning

Water fills my lungs,

Self loathing late at night,

Wanting to be free,

Wanting to be me,

I dream that I can breathe,

Secrets haunt my head,

Leaving me to see,

Everyone breathing fine around me,

Then again,

Isn't everyone a little bit unhappy?

Thoughts hurting my head,

Finding myself staring off again,

Can't seem to break through the surface,

Where everyone is,

So close,

I reach as far as I can,

Yet it hurts to know,

I can't be me.
